Abstract

With Web based open and distance learning, students appreciate the possibility to learn and train when and where they want-even from home. Based on a database, CORBA middleware and Web frontend, we implemented an interactive database and CORBA tutorial to allow for efficient, interactive student training. It also supports the testing of the student´s application in a distributed environment together with a real-life database. The students can concentrate on their main tasks and need not spend time nor effort on learning complicated tools or environment configurations. Consequently, they get familiar with complex e-commerce technologies in a convenient way.
