Abstract
Availability model should be introduced to estimate system behavior in the field of redundant hot-standby controller design in integrated automation systems of process industry. Stochastic Reward Nets (SRN) model was established based on two-node hot-standby computers on process automaton level. Both RAID share and mirror share were addressed in the study and data was simulated and analyzed using SPNP package. With SRN model, multidimensional availability parameters can be operated accurately and flexibly during the whole pipeline design, which apparently preponderate over the ability of traditional Markov model and combine model. The method can also be exploited for the development of more general modeling on fundamental automation level
