Abstract :
The results of a study of an implosion stability of light liners accelerated by magnetic field compression induced by current passing through a liner are presented. In the experiments on “Module A-5-01”-facility (ρ=0.04 0 hm, I=2.5 MA, t=100 ns) the liner was formed by a supersonic hollow gas jet. The universal character of thin plasma shell instability development resulting in its break and penetration of a current into its interior has been found in previous studies. In a present study the axial magnetic field of HZ=10 kOe, was used to increase the instability rise time. The data on the heating of a liner-compressed plasma are given. A model representing the dynamics of a compressed plasma shell with a “frozen-in” magnetic field is proposed.
