Combat system performance modelling tools and their use

Discusses the area of performance tools for design assessment. This is based on complementary innovative tools which, together, provide an interactive basis for the development and assessment of system performance characteristics. The tools have been applied to combat systems, but the methodologies apply to more general areas. These combat systems are real-time systems requiring a rapid response with both operator interactions and automated responses. This paper discusses: the nature and merits of the tools; uses of the tools; and how the tools complement each other
