Abstract :
Vector control of AC/DC Front End Converter (FEC) with single current sensor is proposed in this paper. Grid side d-q axis reference currents of the current controllers are used for current estimation of β-phase. FEC maintains constant DC-link voltage and it can be varied by changing Vdc reference within a limit. It draws nearly sinusoidal current from mains and input power factor can be adjusted according to requirement. Proposed current estimation method is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink to justify the operation.
