Abstract :
The aim of this project is to develop a simulation model of a Profibus communication using high level Petri nets, in order to get an estimation about the dynamic behavior of a concrete Profibus application. For the Petri net simulation the tool PACE is used. After a short discussion of the modeled Profibus equipment and the used Petri net theory, the development of the Petri net simulation model and the kind of its verification is described. This model enables the manufacturer and the user of automation equipment to forecast the effect of a modification of some Profibus communication parameters in his special implementation
