Abstract :
In many control systems, such as, networked control systems and embedded control systems, the assumption of uniform sampling is not true in general. Observability is a key property that is to be checked before state estimation. In contrast to uniform sampling case, very little contribution is available in literature about the observability of non-uniformly sampled systems. A scheme for checking the observability of non-uniformly sampled systems is proposed. The proposed scheme provides a unified method to test the observability of a non-uniformly sampled system under different sampling schemes available in literature. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is demonstrated through application to the existing techniques.
