  • Abstract
In opto-mechatronic systems using electric signals to drive motion control systems integrated with optical components, the driving signal may include the unwanted frequency band, such as resonant frequencies and noise frequencies. It can affect the accuracy and the repeatability of final opto-mechatronic system, and finally results into serious damage to the system due to resonance phenomenon of the mechatronic system. LOS (Line Of Sight) control unit is used to automatically rotate gimbal system with surveillance video imaging system, generally mounted on modern aerial vehicles. It still suffers from the natural frequency variation problem due to variations of operational temperature. To solve this problem, this paper proposes an adaptive notch filtering technique based on real-time noise analysis and variable notch-filtering for stabilized LOS control system. The details of design procedures of the proposed filtering technique and the experiments for the performance verification are described in this paper. Results verify how our proposed method maintains the LOS stabilization performance.
