Abstract :
Power cable fault debugging has important significance for ensuring reliable supply of power system. At present, traveling wave method is widely used in cable fault test, of which one key is to determine the pulse starting point. Wavelet transform has good space locality, the pulse starting point can be well detected for the signal singularity sensitivity of wavelet analysis, but it may still appear large deviation in the condition that the pulse rising period of the signal becomes flat, for singularity of the starting point is too weak. Based on calculating the flat coefficient, a cable fault location analyzing method combining with wavelet analysis and curve fitting is proposed. Analysis of measured signal of low resistance cable fault shows that: the method reduces deviation of singularity detection and improves precision of fault location.
