The FAA´s weather technology in the cockpit (WTIC) program — Deriving a minimum weather service

• The FAA´s WTIC Program consists of a portfolio of research projects to develop, verify, and validate requirements for incorporation into MinWxSvc standards • WTIC is not building boxes and very much supports industry development of cockpit weather applications • Significant differences exist between tactical and strategic applications and between commercial vs. GA needs • Acknowledgement to our WTIC team including: + Gary Pokodner, WTIC Program Manager + Eldridge Frazier, WTIC lead engineer + Ian Johnson, WTIC Human Factor Psychologist.
