Abstract
The expression for the radiation impedance of a half wave length wire dipole antenna is evaluated by using a plane wave expansion. Usually the impedance of a wire antenna is expressed with cosine and sine integral functions. In this study an alternative approach is done which leads to the expression for the radiation impedance which contains Bessel functions
