Abstract :
Based on the mechanism of the falling film evaporation and condensation. A three-stage tower type of desalination unit has been designed. Meanwhile the heat and mass transfers are analyzed and studied according to results from the references regarding falling film evaporation and condensation on pipes and plates. The influences of the operating temperature, temperature of cooling water, the flow rates of heating and cooling water etc on the freshwater yield and performance ratio of the unit are calculated and discussed according to the heat energy equilibrium equations in each stage and component. The optimal range for the parameters could be given.
