Abstract
The properties of balanced stochastic truncation (BST) model reduction for stable multi-input multi-output systems are reviewed and analysed. A relative-error bound for BST is obtained as 2¿ni=p+1 ¿i /(1-¿i ). This error bound is tighter than the relative-error bound previously derived by Green.
