Abstract
Current performances and future prospects of arrayed-waveguide grating (AWG) demultiplexers with 50-GHz channel spacing are described. Cross talks of <-30 dB are obtained in 40-ch 50-GHz spacing AWGs. A 16/spl times/16 AWG router with <-37 dB cross talk is also described for a future N/spl times/N interconnection systems.
