  • Abstract
    In this paper a novel motion compensation algorithm for automotive SAR is presented. Aiming at automotive applications, the motion compensation algorithm utilizes only one 1-axis MEMS accelerometer instead of a 6 Degrees of Freedom inertial sensor. A complete motion compensation procedure is presented and its performance is analyzed quantitatively. The critical system parameters are designed with the help of a fully characterized simulator and Monte Carlo simulations. The experiment results demonstrate that the motion compensation algorithm together with a standard low-cost accelerometer can yield very useful images for automotive applications.
