Abstract :
In this paper a Web-based radiotherapy treatment planning system (TPS) is presented, transforming the TPS from a stand-alone application to a client-server application. The benefits from the use of such architecture are examined, while the problems that have to be faced are stated. The description of a step-by-step adaptation of the TPS to the Web application is made, while security aspects revealed from the use of the Web are examined. The transfer of TPS to the Web has shown to be feasible, and the first results seem to be not only promising, but also convincing, for the future of Web-based TPS
