Abstract :
In this paper, a brief review is given for electropolishing (EP) of niobium superconducting (sc) cavities. KEK original EP method is introduced. This method can produce high gradient of 40MV/m, which will be the fundamental limit of high pure niobium sc cavities. A required surface smoothness is estimated to be less than 2μm in order to prevent field enhancement problem in sc cavity.
