Abstract :
In the present paper the eigensolutions are presented for the double wire medium where the wire grid geometry is different in orthogonal directions. This is the generalization of the material with symmetric wire grid. The asymmetry in grid geometry results in different plasma numbers in the effective medium model of permittivity. The eigensolutions are ordinary and extraordinary waves. There are three extraordinary waves, one at the low frequency region, one near the plasma frequency and one in between depending on the difference in plasma numbers. Wave propagation and power transportation are studied. The two plasma numbers gives us tuning parameters for obtaining desired propagating properties.
