Abstract :
This paper describes some transient and steady-state analyses and the design procedure of a resonance type high-frequency inverter by reverse-conducting thyristors for use with a high-power ultrasonic generator. In the first place, some basic features of the high-frequency inverter treated here are mentioned and these stable oscillation boundary regions are elucidated in connection with theory and experiments. In the second place, transient-state performances are evaluated herein. In the third place, some characteristics for stable operation are illustrated in the relations of some normalized circuit constants and operating frequency. Finally, the circuit design procedure and design example are proposed on the basis of transient and steady-state analyses. The trial high-power ultrasonic generator is concretely demonstrated.
