Abstract
/spl beta/-eucryptite solid solution glass-ceramic substrates have a negative thermal expansion ideally suited for athermalizing fiber Bragg gratings. Gratings with thermal variations of 0.0022 nm//spl deg/C from -40 to +85/spl deg/C are reported.
