Abstract :
The electric power system is moving forward to a new direction that with wide-range interconnection of power grid. Along with the increasing number of generate capacity, the expansion of power network, the complexity of power load as well as the changing grid structure, the impacts brought by the differences of frequency characteristics in areas with interconnected power network is getting increasingly significant. This paper first analyses factors which influence the Temporal and Spatial Distribution Characteristics of Frequency of modern grid, then put forward a new way of Under-Frequency Load Shedding, finally, in the case of Gansu power grid of Northwest power grid, prove that when severe failure occurs in the system, with the assistance of emergency control round, this new method can effectively restrain the decline rate of frequency shedding.
