Abstract :
This paper is concerned with shadow removal in color images. We propose a combined algorithm which is based on colorimetry and retinex theory. Our method can effectively remove shadow in color images, and meanwhile avoid intrinsic disadvantages of the two algorithms if they are used individually. It can be used as a pre-process step in some computer vision tasks such as image segmentation, motion tracking and objective recognition.
