Abstract
The main goal of this paper is to present a new and simplified methodology for an estimation of the magnitudes of disturbances (EMD), i.e. the power imbalance between generation and demand. In the next generation of distribution networks, consisting of conventional consumers and mixed renewable energy sources, this methodology should be utilized for adaptive under-frequency load shedding (UFLS) schemes. This paper consists of two parts: in the first part, the EMD methodology will be presented; in the second part, the EMD algorithm will be tested in two different networks.
