  • Abstract
In this paper, performance of an optical CDMA network with turbo coding is analyzed and simulated. The modulation scheme used is binary-pulse-position-modulation (BPPM). The performance of this network is evaluated in terms of throughput-delay characteristics which depend on the turbo coded BER performance. From the simulation results, it is shown that turbo coding offers considerable coding gain with reasonable encoding/decoding complexity. Also, it is demonstrated that the performance of an optical CDMA network can be substantially improved by increasing interleaver length and the number of iterations in the decoding process for a fixed code rate. The results in this paper can be applied to an optical CDMA network with power limitation
