Abstract :
Photovoltaic (PV) resources are very desirable nowadays, that because of their numerous advantages such as; no carbon dioxide emission, no running costs, low maintenance cost and highly abundant. As the PV power is DC, a power converter is needed to connect it to AC. Normally DC DC converters then DC AC inverters are connected in series, the proposed power converter is converterless, so the inverter performs the both tasks; maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and dispatching unity power factor to the public grid. This paper investigates how a PV source can achieve a unify power factor dispatching when exporting power to a distribution network. The inverter interconnect between the DC source (PV) and the public grid. Pulse width modulation (PWM) technique used in this paper to control the inverter to track the DC link voltage value which extract the maximum power from the PV and dispatch zero reactive power to the point of comment coupling (PCC). Matlab/Simulink reveals the effectiveness of the controller.
