The paper introduces the principle of High Voltage Direct Current based on Voltage Source Converter transmission system (VSC-HVDC), and presents a control method based on vector control used in VSC-HVDC. Analysis the configuration of control system, include inner control loop and outer control loop. Controllers have been designed. Establish simulation model in MATLAB/SIMULINK. Constant active power control and constant reactive control are used in rectifier side; constant DC voltage control and constant reactive control are used in inverter side. The results confirm the feasibility of vector control used in VSC-HVDC.
