Abstract :
Modern military avionics systems rely heavily on the integration of sensory data (sensor fusion) to assess state and maintain situation awareness. Sensor Management entails the control of the information-gathering activities which drive the sensor fusion process; it is a critical part of sensor fusion which has only recently begun to receive attention as a separate and somewhat under-researched area in the larger science of Sensor Fusion. This paper focuses on sensor management describing first its place in the larger context and secondly, qualitatively describing temporal issues for modeling the sensor management problem
