Abstract :
A novel adaptive beamforming structure utilizing a two-input adaptive noise canceler with cross feedback is proposed for reducing ambient noise in applications such as the hearing aid. In comparison with other simple, thus inexpensive, beamforming techniques, the technique proposed here extracts the target signal component from the reference input adaptively instead of via nonadaptive subtraction of the primary and reference inputs. Simulation results with speech signals recorded in a living room environment show satisfactory performance and promise a better applicability to real-life situations
