Abstract :
Two TLM based heat transfer models of relevance to traditional manufacturing industry are described; a model to predict thermal fields in glass mould tools during cyclic glass pressing processes, and a model of the thermal experience of large pieces of vitreous china ware during firing in a tunnel kiln. Parameterisation and validation of the models are described and discussed as is the use of the models
