Abstract :
While the high-power solid-state sources are known for their potential to principally improve the control over microwave thermal processing, specific effects of the controlling parameters on the heating patterns remain insufficiently clear. This paper reports on alternations in dissipated power distribution inside the load in a dual-source rectangular cavity. Switching between the resonant frequencies excited by different sources is shown as making a major impact on the heating patterns. The effect from the phase shift may be significant if the related sources operate at the resonant frequencies they excite in the cavity.
