Abstract :
In this paper, virtual reality (VR) is applied in planning robot flexible assembly system (FAS) in order to construct a more advanced computer integrated simulated platform-robot virtual assembly system (VAS). This research is going to solve the following problems: (1) visualization of parameters and calculating data in planning. (2) Realize the planning FAS through engineering-oriented robot virtual assembly. By researching problems in difficult planning FAS, the constitution of VAS, the reality of virtual assembly environment, modeling and database and planning based on virtual assembly so on, a new method of researching and developing FAS is given
