Abstract :
Compared with carrierless pulse shaping, carrier-based pulse shaping is flexible to fit the FCC´s frequency allocation for UWB and enriches the transceiver schemes. With the assumption that BPSK is used, this paper analyzes and compares the BER performance of two kinds of UWB Rake receiver, named radio-frequency Rake (RF-Rake) and base-band Rake (BB-Rake). The theoretical analysis and simulation results show that BB-Rake performs worse than RF-Rake in multipath environments, which is due to random carrier phase deviation.
