Abstract
This paper presents the analysis of forest damaged by harmful insects using remote sensing. In 1997, forest damage caused by insects around Mt. Kariyasu was found. The damaged area was analyzed using Landsat data observed in 1986 and 1999. In the area detected from visual inspection of aerial photograph, the vegetation activity calculated from Landsat data decreased.
