Abstract :
In this paper, we develop an algorithm for determining an estimate of a function´s truncated Laguerre spectrum from the function´s Laplace transform. The algorithm can be used alongside an already established Laguerre Gram model reduction scheme to obtain rational approximations to irrational transfer functions, suitable for simulation on a computer. The algorithm is then demonstrated on an infinite-dimensional leak size and location observer for a pipeline.
