Abstract :
This paper discusses how to conduct quantitative remote sensing in China. First of all, there is increasing quantitative use for ecological systems. However, obstructions for carrying out quantitative remote sensing are the limitation of remote sensing information and the complicated atmosphere radiative transfer problem. At present, models with physical significance and statistic algorithms with time extension and space extension may improve the limitation of the remote sensing information. Simultaneous measurement will be able to help overcome some troubles in atmosphere radiation transfer. There are more than 80 ecological stations in China that have formed an effective ecological system network. The combination of remote sensing information and measurements in the ecosystem research network will promote development on quantitative application of remote sensing
