Abstract :
Performance analysis of Multimedia Broadcast and Multicast Services (MBMS) in Cellular CDMA has been presented in this paper. Effects of soft handoff (HO) parameters have been analyzed on MBMS. Fountain code has been considered in the application layer for the broadcast services due to its rateless nature as well as to avoid a backward channel that may be needed when ARQ is used. Turbo code has been considered as a physical layer FEC. Influence of physical layer issues like soft HO parameters on broadcast service has been investigated. The impact of application layer raptor code and physical layer code on broadcast services has been studied.
