Abstract :
Magamp circuits are commonly used as secondary side post regulators in multiple output power supplies. These circuits may not be the most economical at low power levels and often are limited to switching frequencies below 300 kHz. Alternatively, semiconductor based secondary side post regulators permit higher switching frequencies and can provide fast response during fault conditions. Important tradeoffs for the power stage and control loop design are presented, in addition to a model, useful as a foundation for understanding the dynamics of this type of power supply
