  • Abstract
High-voltage (HV) engineering consists essentially of the design and testing of insulation structures used in all equipment required for the reliable and economic transmission of power at high voltages. High Voltage Engineering makes the most comprehensive and in-depth presentation of all aspects of HV engineering. It includes a discussion of the basic physics of discharge phenomena and insulation performance under different electrical stresses produced during the normal operation of power systems, engineering aspects of insulation design and HV testing, and measurements required to ensure compliance with established performance criteria. The rigor and thoroughness with which the different topics are presented in the book reflect the vast experience of the authors and the significant contributions they have made to HV engineering.
