Abstract
Two of the principal problems with the energy losses estimation in distribution systems, are the huge amount of information and computing calculus required for an exact calculus of the power losses. In this paper a new methodology for losses estimation in distribution systems is presented, the methodology uses statistic techniques in order to reduce the amount of information and computing time required for an exact energy losses study, the results obtained with the proposes methodology are very close to those obtained with exact methods. A real distribution system is analyzed, the system includes 13 power substation, 50 medium voltage feeder, 6513 low voltage feeder and 224,519 users.
