Abstract :
The authors provide retrospective coverage of the social cloud approach--which they first advocated in 2010--and the various ways it has been interpreted by the cloud and distributed systems communities. In addition to describing various social cloud implementations and how they align with their initial vision, they discuss a potential platform that implements this vision, as well as future research opportunities and challenges.
