Abstract :
The paper describes the design of an amplifier which consists of a transistor preamplifier stage and TWT stage. The main building blocks of this amplifier are: transistor amplifier, TWT with suitable power supply unit and a control and monitoring system. The necessary input power is 15 mW the output power is 40 kW, so the total gain of both stages is /spl sim/64dB.
