Abstract :
This paper gives a general electromagnetic formulation of the absorption properties of multi-layered cylindrical enclosures at RF frequencies and above. The formulation has no limitations concerning frequency. Thus very low frequencies are also considered for comparison with the results in literature. The enclosures considered here are lossy dielectric as well as metallic. Analysis has been made for the absorption effectiveness (AE) of such enclosures for a plane electromagnetic wave incident with an oblique angle. Both horizontal and vertical polarizations are considered.
