  • Abstract
The results of potential distribution and its evolution in time for polypropylene-polyamide fabric were presented in the paper. The tribocharged fabrics, made of combined threads, exhibited strong local electric fields (high gradient fabrics). The estimated values of the normal and tangent components of the electric field were estimated to be on the level of 10/sup 6/ V/m or higher. It was shown that the tribocharging process might be used for activation and revitalisation of strong electric fields, appearing on combined fabrics. Obtained values of components of the field suggest the application of the fabrics in the construction of filters with electrically enhanced efficiency.
