Abstract
Municipal utilities, mostly of a small scale and in possession of co-generation units, are faced by new uncertainties in the liberalized electricity market. These include, among others, the purchase price risks that is especially important for the utilities considered. This paper presents a method for optimal planning of both generation and market activities in municipal cogeneration systems by taking the new market inherent price risks explicitly into account.
