Abstract :
A symbol-level, coloured Gaussian model for in-cell interference on the CDMA forward link is presented. The covariance matrix of the Gaussian process is constructed to account for both the in-cell interference colouring caused by multipath dispersion and the partial interference cancellation provided by the forward link Walsh spreading codes. The accuracy of the model is investigated by generating chip-level interference distributions and comparing them to a Gaussian process. The model is also tested by comparing symbol-level CDMA forward link simulations generated using the model to results produced using a chip-level simulation.
