Abstract :
A lot of different sport activities have become of great interest to a wide community. We outline an interactive programme that simulates and visualises the performance in ski-jumping. The simple physical model is implemented as a Java Swing applet which can be integrated in a Web page and run on many different kinds of computers. The applet enables you to change the value of several parameters so you can analyse the result, as well as to take part in the performance process itself by changing the jumper´s position angle during the flight phase, which would prove difficult in the real world. We also outline an interpretation of the simulation results verified by real sports performance achievements.
