Abstract
In this paper we show that a linear equalizer with no coding is capable of benefiting from maximum multipath diversity in linearly preceded OFDM systems Z. Wang et al., (2001), i.e. systems where the information symbols are mapped through a matrix transformation before the IFFT at the OFDM transmitter. We can conclude from this result that at sufficiently high SNRs precoded OFDM systems perform better over channels with more taps even with linear equalization, due to the increase in diversity order.
