  • Abstract
    In this paper, we will examine recent advances in telemedicine from a multimedia communication perspective. The needs for multimedia communication to improve the quality of health care in various telemedicine applications are demonstrated. Some examples of telemedicine systems that have adopted multimedia communication over different communication links are presented.
