Abstract
In this paper, a step down converter or Buck converter that is digitally controlled is presented. A National Instruments Data Acquisition (DAQ) board AT-MIO 16X was used for data acquisition. The Buck converter is controlled by the switching of the transistor in the circuit. The transistor was controlled using a digital output of the DAQ board and the output voltage was measured using an analog input of the DAQ board. The principle of automatic data acquisition and ripple measurement of the DC-DC converter was investigated in this paper. The experimental results show that the automatic data acquisition and a method presented for measuring the output voltage ripple give consistent results.
