Abstract
In this article we would like to present our experience with open source software for hard real time experiments. Moreover, we would like to compare it to proprietary solution and see where are the benefits. For that reason we tested RT-LAB Solo with QNX and as an open source alternative ST-RTL and RTLinux. RT-LAB Solo and ST-RTL are used for code generation from Simulink models. To be able to compare these two products we conducted experiment for both configurations on the same hardware.
